How to Turn the User Account Control (UAC) Feature On or Off

The User Account Control (UAC) is a feature of the Vista and Windows 7 operating systems that improves computer safety and security by preventing potentially dangerous software from making changes to the computer without explicit user consent, which in turn can help reduce the affect of viruses, spyware, and other threats.

IMPORTANT: It is recommended that the User Account Control (UAC) setting not be disabled if at all possible. Lowering the UAC setting can reduce the computer security level and make it more susceptible to security exploits. If the UAC setting does need to be lowered for some reason, be sure to return the UAC setting back to at least the default level as soon as possible.

NOTE: By default, the operating system is configured with the User Account Control (UAC) level set to the second highest setting possible.

Using a dynamic slide show on the basis of RSS as a desktop background in Windows 7

One of the advantages of Windows 7 in comparison with Windows Vista is advanced personalization features using the interface of Aero. Among them - an interesting opportunity to use RSS is to create a slide show, which will be used as the desktop background.

RSS and files

The first difficulty lies in the fact that all the RSS-feed used to create the slide shows, must be in one place. This limits the choice, but I found a way to solve the problem as mentioned below.

Another difficulty - lack of built-in interface to create threads using the slide show based on RSS. We'll have to copy and edit write protected files of Windows.
