How to check performance using the Windows Experience Index

Follow this procedure to check performance of the Computer using the Windows Experience Index in the Windows 7 Operating System.

1. Click the Start button and then click Control Panel.
2. In the Control Panel window, click System and Security.
3. In the System and Security window, click System.

4. In the System window, in the lower-left corner under See also, click Performance Information and Tools .
5. In the Performance Information and Tools window there will be an overall performance score and the score on individual components.

NOTE: On computers that have been upgraded to the Windows 7 operating system, the performance scores may identify components that, if upgraded, may improve performance.
