How to enable the Windows Aero user interface

Please follow this procedure to turn On the Windows Aero user interface in the Windows 7 Operating System.

1. Click the Start button, and then click Control Panel.
2. In the Control Panel window, click Appearance and Personalization.
3. In the Appearance and Personalization window, click Personalization.
4. In the Personalization window, click to select any one of the Aero Themes.

NOTE: Once an Aero theme is selected, the Aero interface is enabled.

5. In the Personalization window, click the X in the upper-right corner to close the window.

More information:

  • The computer must meet the minimum system requirements in order to use the Aero interface.
  • If you choose to use an Ease of Access theme, some elements of the Aero interface, such as transparency and thumbnail preview, will not be available.
