Any or all?

I already have password-protected sharing turned off and still cannot see my wireless laptop, whether it is connected hard-wired to the network or wireless. I have a new WIndows 7 PC connected with Cable Broadband to a D-Link Router, an Ethernet cable out of the router to my old desktop PC with Windows XP Home SP3 and all is well. Windows XP Pro SP3 Laptop cannot be seen by Windows 7 and Laptop is not authorized to connect to Windows 7 PC through My Network Places - Entire Network - Microsoft Network - Workgroup. The old PC connects with MS Home instead of Microsoft Network.

Now I'm confused, I think I need a cheap network professional. I've fought with wireless networks for 3 years and finally just ran another Ethernet cable. Everything was fine until the new machine. I need a detailed guide for Dummies to set this thing up right. Any ideas where one might be?

It's either of the three steps.

Try to disable the firewall and anti-virus. If you are using or used Norton in the machine, install the "Norton removal tool" and uninstall it or remove its remnants.
