How to share Internet connection without a Wireless Router

Ever wondered if you may use your Wireless enabled Laptop to share the Internet connection with all your Wireless devices, including Wi-Fi enabled phones, PSP, other Laptops or PCs, Netbooks etc?

Now, I'm going to reveal another Windows 7 secret to you. Yes, it's possible to turn your Windows 7 based Computer into a Wi-Fi Hotspot. You don't require a Wireless router to share the Internet connection anymore.

Today I'm glad to come across a magnificent FREE third-party Software, Connectify, which makes your Windows 7 based Computer act like a Wi-Fi Hotspot. You can set up a Wi-Fi network by giving it a name, password, choosing the network interface of the Internet connection that you want to share, and the encryption mode. Start the hotspot, and you can then join your other devices to this wireless network by entering the same password.

Connectify W-Fi Hotspot Setup Wizard

Connectify has a very easy to use setup Wizard. Connectify also displays all the Wirelessly connected devices, under the ‘Connected Clients’ section.

Download Connectify

Please note that Conectify is only compatible with the Windows 7 Operating System.  However, any wireless enabled devices, including  Computers running Windows XP or Vista, or even Mac laptops, can share the Internet through Connectify without any additional Software.
