This issue may occur in the Sony VAIO Computers. The CD/DVD Drive may disappear from the "Computer" window after upgrading or clean installing the Windows 7 Operating System in the Sony VAIO Computers. To resolve this issue, download and install the appropriate registry patch and then restart the Computer.
