Beta of SP1 for Windows 7 and Server 2008 R2 available to download
Microsoft has started to distribute the first official beta of Service Pack 1 for Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2.
We have previously reported that the start of closed beta testing will begin later this month and proved, Microsoft keeps its promises.
The official beta build was assembled for the internal number 6.1.7601.16562.win7sp1_beta.100603-1800, collected another 3 June (reports that the start of testing to take place before, but specialists in time noticed an error in the system heap for virtualizer Hyper-V and took their correction). The first service pack is now "blown" to the size of 1.22 GB, which is the largest amount of file data in the history of the Service Pack release for Windows.
The beta version is available in five major languages: English, Spanish, German, French and Japanese, but it is reported that some users when installed on the German and Japanese copies of Windows 7 was difficult - Microsoft has worked with information.
Representatives of Microsoft happily report that the current schedule for the establishment of SP1 for Windows 7/Server 2008 R2 observed perfectly, but in comparison with the similar period after the release of Windows Vista Corporation is moving forward by about 2 calendar months.
Unfortunately, even after the first official beta, Microsoft refuses to provide even an approximate date of the final release a comprehensive update. It is expected that such will be held later this fall.
