Representatives of Microsoft confirmed the information that the experts of the company finally completed the work on creating the first comprehensive set of updates for your operating system Windows 7/Server 2008 R2.
Last Friday, the Service Pack 1 began to be sent electronically between corporate clients and OEM-partners.
The official announcement has sounded the inclusion in SP1 Technology RemoteFX, allowing use of multimedia capabilities in a virtualized environment, as well as all the updates released for Windows 7/Server 2008 R2, since the official release in 2009.
SP1 also will increase the rating for possible total number of virtual processors to the number of logical processors used by the target operating system. Earlier each logical processor "had" eight virtual, and after the first service pack the amount is to be increased to twelve (in the case of server virtualization to guest operating systems with Windows 7 Service Pack 1). Thus, the owners of the servers with the processor Xeon Westmere can work with 144 virtual machines simultaneously.
Unfortunately, at present SP1 supports only English language interface. It will not affect systems with a non-English language user interface. It will have to wait about 3-4 weeks. In order to still get hold of SP1, you must install the English UI in the Control Panel-> Regional and Language Options, activate it, restart your machine, remove the UI from the non-English system, upgrade to Windows 7/Server 2008 R2 SP1 and re-download the non-English UI.
